Punjab: Pvt unaided colleges express concern over paying salaries to staff due to shortage of funds – Times of India


BATHINDA: Federation of self Financing Technical Institutions (FSFTI) has expressed concern on the circular issued recently by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) directing all the technical Institutions of the country to pay the salary to the staff and not to charge any fee from the existing students during the lockdown. The heads of 15 unaided technical colleges of Punjab held a discussion on it through video conferencing and termed it almost impossible.

FSFTI President Anshu Kataria and General Secretary KVK Rao urged AICTE to immediately release endowment funds, security deposits to the colleges. Apart from this AICTE should also release the due amount of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) to assist the unaided technical institutions of the country.

They asked the union government to release the due amount of Post Matric Scholarship to all the states of the country which is about Rs. 1500 crore payable to Punjab.

FSFTI treasurer P Selvaraj said that AICTE should release the funds of those pharmacy colleges also who have decided to discontinue with the AICTE from this session.
