However, examination calendar would be published only after the lockdown ends on May 3, public transport system is back on track and the central, state governments grant permission to go ahead with the varsity’s plans for conducting examinations, an official statement from the university said here on Friday.
The committee, said the statement, has also given shape for a plan for time-bound evaluation of answer papers, immediately after the lockdown which is expected to be lifted on May 3. Answer paper evaluation would be carried out by strictly following the instructions of the health department, the statement said.
The higher education department had earlier issued an order asking all universities to take immediate steps for conducting all pending examinations from May 11 onwards. However, following criticisms that the government had been trying to belittle the academic autonomy of higher education institutions, the department had rolled back the order and said they are free to decide examination dates.
